High chemical resistance coating cycle

The chemical technology that can ensure very high levels of chemical resistance is constituted by a coating of epoxy type composed of the epoxy primer K105 Epodur and the epoxy finish K32 Etolux.

The primer gives adhesion, elasticity and corrosion resistance; finish gives the chemical resistance and hardness.

It is not suitable for outdorr exposition for long periods of time; is more indicated for the treatment of manufactures and machinery that work indoors or occasionally exposed to the sun.

The performance evaluated in laboratory and confirmed by various industrial applications are summarized as follows:

  • Excellent chemical resistance for prolonged contact with: detergents, oils, fuel, oil, acid and basic solutions, ammonia, domesti and industrial waste.
  • Good resistance to contact with strong acids: sulfuric acid, nitric acid, hydrochloric acid.
  • Corrosion resistance: over 2000 hours in salt spray chamber and over 10 years in industrial environments.
  • Stable at temperatures up to 70°C.
  • Excellent hardness and scratch resistance.
  • Good level of aesthetic finish.

Suitable for: industrial machinery, tanks, waste treatment plants, chemical and petrochemical carpentry, technical rooms, workshops, garages, metal structures in general.

The application method is very simple and consists of:

  • Cleaning of the substrate (removal of dirt or rust)
  • Application of primer K105 Epodur
  • Drying of the primer (3 hours at 20°C)
  • Application of finishing K32 Etolux (within 48 hours of drying primer)
  • Drying of the finish (6-8 hours at 20°C)
